Here’s what’s happening this week!

Volunteers and catechists needed!

Second Collection
The second collection for this upcoming weekend is for the Retirement Fund for Religious. Thank you for your financial support and generosity!
Elderly Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests have offered their lives in service to others – educating the young, comforting the sick, and ministering to the less fortunate. Today, many are frail and need assistance. Your gift to the Retirement Fund for Religious helps furnish medications, nursing care, and more. Please give generously to today’s second collection.

You can make your contributions by giving online or through the GivePlus mobile app. You can also drop off your envelopes at the church!

Recognizing the unique needs of each student, the faculty and staff will endeavor to nurture, challenge and guide all students toward their maximum academic, spiritual, physical, social, and emotional potential. Mass Times

Bishop Knestout and other bishops have decided to lift the dispensation of the Sunday and Holy Days Mass obligation in the Dioceses of Richmond, and will reinstate that obligation beginning on Saturday, June 26, 2021 and Sunday, June 27, 2021. We welcome and encourage the Faithful to return to full in-person participation of the Sunday Eucharist, the source and summit of our Catholic faith. If you would like to read the joint statement regarding Lifting the General Dispensation from the Obligation to Attend Mass , please click here.
This obligation does not apply to those who are ill; those who have reason to believe that they were recently exposed to the coronavirus, another serious or contagious illness; those who are confined to their home, a hospital, or nursing facility; or those with serious underlying health conditions. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the parish office.

Dear Sacred Heart Parishioners:

This is just a friendly reminder as it has become more and more frequent that people are receiving fake emails requesting money, gift cards, etc. from someone pretending to be a person that you know. Unfortunately, many of these emails tend to come in the form of an email account pretending to be Fr. Anthony, other parish office personnel, or school personnel. While, the Diocesan I.T. Department has zero control over which email accounts are created, it’s important to identify these fake email accounts, and remember that Fr. Anthony (or any Diocesan employee for that matter) will not handle business through an email address that is not part of the Richmond Diocese domain (@richmonddiocese.org). This is also the case for any Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Catholic School employee and our email domains (@sheartchurch.org and @sheartschool.com, respectively).

These scams continue to be perpetuated because they continue to work. We ask that you do not reply to such emails, click on links within those emails or download content in them. If you receive help requests that you think are legitimate, verify that the person is legitimate by calling them directly on another known valid number. Don’t ask the emailer for information or a call. Find an offline method of correspondence that you and that person have used in the past to talk with each other.

In Christ,
Sacred Heart Catholic Church personnel
