Dear parishioner,
Here’s what’s happening this week!

Novena of the Sacred Heart
Beginning Tuesday, June 2nd, the Legion of Mary will be hosting a Novena every night at 7pm, concluding on the Feast of the Sacred Heart on Friday, June 11th. On the night of the Feast of the Sacred Heart, we will have a live concert at 6pm, followed by a bilingual Mass at 7pm. Please join us as we celebrate this Feast Day!

Family Faith Formation
Family Faith Formation will be starting back up sometime in the Fall shortly after the start of the 2021-2022 school year. We are currently looking for feedback of when would be the best day to host Family Faith Formation. Please vote for which would be the best day to host Family Faith Formation for the next year!
Note: Parents would be able to leave early on Wednesdays to attend Mass at 7:00 p.m.

Baby Bottle Fundraiser
Sacred Heart Church will be hosting a baby bottle fundraiser to assist Transition Pregnancy Solutions, a non-profit crisis pregnancy center right here in Danville! All you need to do is come by the church, pick up a baby bottle or two, then fill them with coins, cash, or checks, then turn them back in. If you already have bottles filled, please bring them to the church and pick up another.
The fundraiser will last until Father’s Day, June 20th.

Father’s Watch Party
Beginning in June, we will be hosting watch parties of 30 minute videos with discussion afterwards on Tuesdays and Thursdays with Father. Stay tuned for more information coming soon!

New Catholic Virtual Academy
Saint Vincent de Paul Virtual Academy (SVVA) is opening this fall for students in grades 8-12 throughout the Diocese of Richmond. It will be administered by the faculty and staff at Peninsula Catholic High School who have experience delivering their curriculum virtually since 2016. Applications are being accepted for high school students seeking a dynamic virtual learning experience built on Catholic values. Join us for our Virtual Open House on Monday, May 10th at 6pm via Zoom. Contact Alyson LeMaster, Director of Enrollment, at 757-596-7247 ext. 106 to register or visit our website to learn more about SVVA.

Prayer List
Please continue to pray for the spiritual and physical health of these brothers and sisters in Christ.

Our Mission
Sacred Heart Catholic School’s mission is to establish a strong foundation for lifelong learning and provide an educational environment in which the basic tenets of Christian morals and ethics are visibly present. Recognizing the unique needs of each student, the faculty and staff will endeavor to nurture, challenge and guide all students toward their maximum academic, spiritual, physical, social, and emotional potential. As a Catholic school, we will emphasize God’s word and celebrate His presence through prayer, liturgy, and service to others.

Mass Times

Bishop Knestout has dispensed all the faithful in the Diocese of Richmond from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass until further notice. However, if you choose to attend a public Mass during the weekday or weekend, it is absolutely imperative that you adhere to the various guidelines and requirements. Please take the time to watch our video on how to safely return to Mass and participate in the liturgy. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the parish office.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19, Mass is still being live-streamed for use on various Diocesan digital media accounts of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, including, but not limited to, the websites of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond and the Catholic Virginian, and the social media platforms of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. Photography and/or screenshot images from the live-stream may be used for the Catholic Virginian print edition. If you do not wish to be captured by live streaming, please refrain from attending that particular Mass time.
